purple-ish!

These flowers were so textural, lovely and such interesting colors for this time of year! The bride's bouquet was wrapped in an amazing family heirloom... the collar of an antique wedding gown passed down through the family. The bride herself re-worked the seed beads so it would be perfect, and what an amazing way to incorporate this piece! Lovely champagne tones to her creamy bouquet... perfectly complimented her gown.

The bridesmaids wore dresses in deep navy, plum, purples... a mix of shades and styles. Blooms such as silvery-lavender roses, huge white hydrangea, deep purple lisianthus, and the awesome texture of star of bethlehem. Scented geranium was a textural, soft and fragrant accent.

Lucia's Birthday Party!

Normally I don't post a lot of personal stuff on here, but this party was FLOWERS! So I feel okay about it! :) It was so much fun for me to plan.

Kim with Tomkat Studios (Etsy Famous) did the invitations for Lucia's first birthday party for me, and then posted about her party today. I thought I would share the collages that she posted and a few others here! We had so much fun, it was really an awesome spring day. Enjoy the pics, and be sure to stop by her blog for constant pretty inspiration!

I find this last picture to be so FUNNY... the girls' aunt (tia!) posing in her yellow with all the yellow pom poms. Even her purse matched... awesome.

March snow?

This wedding was a gorgeous, ethereal, garden-inspired event with a shabby-chic flair! Right up my alley for those of you that know me. :) The reception was held at The Starlight Theater, and it was, well... stunning. The blizzard conditions on Saturday might have held a few people back, but boy did they miss out! The arrangements above were meant to flank the entrance to the theater, but because of the weather we moved them inside to be a feature on either side of the band. It was as if it was meant to be... they were so perfect there! We found these enormous paper roses and attached them to 7 foot tall curly willow branches for a tree effect. The theme of huge white roses ran through this event... there were even gorgeous silk roses on the bride's gown. Below, one of the low styles of centerpieces from the reception.

Above, the cool curly willow trees that we came up with! In my dark garden urns, these featured curly willow branches with gorgeous dendoribum orchids, stock, hydrangea, etc. We even incorporated vintage lace accents to pick up on the lace theme that ran throughout the event. Below, check out the amazing lighting (what a DIFFERENCE this makes!). We used these huge iron trees from Something Borrowed as centerpieces on a few feature tables throughout the room... spotlighted of course! This rental company has gorgeous items, ladies... really the only place in town with so much variety and up-to-date inventory. We added a few blooms for that romantic touch.

Hopefully I can get some photos from the pros of the personal flowers and church pieces, they were equally fun to do!

Published!

I have promised myself that I am going to blog at LEAST once a week. Well, I promised myself that for my New Year's resolution, and I think we can pretty easily count my posts to discover that this promise has fallen through. :) Sorry to my readers out there... I drop the blogs that don't post regularly, so I know I need to do better to keep you interested!

For now, here is a lovely spread from KC magazine, a local lifestyle publication, that featured this gorgeous wedding from this past August. I am still a total dork, I love to see my work in print, somehow it just makes a girl feel special! :) Click on the images for close-ups, sorry my scans are kind of terrible! This photography was DiMartino Photo.

Winter Pinks...

This was a really fun one! While we planned for a winter-y, sparkle-y kind of day, it didn't work out that way! They could not have asked for a more amazing February wedding day, at 70 degrees! So amazing. Anyhoo, enough with the chit chat, here's the goods! The girls' bouquets, (above) were comprised of pink peonies, pink majolika spray roses, very pale pink roses, and white hydrangea and freesia, with accents of silvery dusty miller to pull in that tone. They smelled heavenly. For that matter, so did the bridal bouquet... this was one of the most fragrant bouquets that I have ever produced! Gardenias, peonies, freesia, roses, all so fragrant and gorgeous!

Above, the beautiful flower girl (who reminded me of my little girl!), with a pretty little halo of baby's breath. While I am not normally a fan of baby's breath, it's like carnations... when used appropriately (ie, not in your prom corsage or a bridal bouquet) I think it's totally charming! And below, the gorgeous bride in her stunning rum pink gown!

Above, the bride's mother's antique silver champagne buckets served as the vessels for gorgeous altar bouquets. I just love this kind of personal touch at a wedding. Have I mentioned that before? :) Below, the pretty little pieces on the cocktail tables at The Clubhouse on Baltimore. They used the entry area of the building, which is a stunning space, for cocktails for the guests. The little square vases were majolika spray roses, tulips, and soft silvery dusty miller foliage. The interior of the vases were wrapped in bear grass for an extra accent.

Above, the beautiful room. Some tables were tall tower vases, and the other half were low, silver revere bowls to again pull in the silver tone used throughout the wedding along with soft pinks and blacks. As you can see below, we didn't forget any space! They provided monogrammed guest towels for linens in the lady's room (such a lovely touch) and we even did a few petite vases here to make sure we didn't forget a thing!

Holiday Sparkle

This wedding was lovely. I love winter weddings... warmth, sparkle, such a romantic time of the year. This wedding felt intimate, glittery and really fit the bride and her glowing personality. She wanted classic whites with a hint of the silver that she was using throughout her day...

The Bridesmaids: ranunculus, freesias, hydrangea, tulips and roses. Silver dusty miller accents.

Above and below, the gorgeous bridal bouquet. I could not be any more in love with the HANDLE of this bouquet, oh my goodness. We used one of the cap sleeves from her gown that she chose not to use! Isn't it amazing?

Her bouquet featured hydrangeas, tulips, huge white freesias, ranunculus, roses, more of the silver dusty miller and white mini calla lilies. We also included her charming crystal accents... they really helped tie in the feel of her day- glittery, sparkly, wintry and warm!
